Acerca de

I am a medical student from Jordan with a deep passion for orthopaedic surgery and healthcare leadership. I currently serve as The rapporteur of the Health Sector at the Ministry of Youth and have over 200 volunteer hours through national and international health initiatives. My journey blends clinical curiosity with advocacy, as I’ve worked on projects related to health diplomacy, public health policy, and community engagement.
Beyond my medical studies, I am actively involved in research, communications, and youth leadership programs that focus on bridging gender gaps in medicine. I also volunteer at the King Hussein Cancer Center and contribute to organ donation awareness through the USJO Transplant Program.
Through these diverse experiences, I’ve developed a strong commitment to inclusion, mentorship, and cross-disciplinary collaboration values that align deeply with IODA’s mission of creating a more equitable future in orthopaedics.

¿Qué te hizo unirte a IODA?

I joined IODA because its mission resonates with my belief that medicine and especially orthopaedics thrives when it welcomes diverse perspectives. As a young woman pursuing a career in a traditionally male-dominated specialty, I find IODA’s work inspiring and necessary. I want to be part of a global community that not only celebrates diversity but also builds practical pathways for equity, mentorship, and representation in orthopaedics.

¿Cómo ha abordado la DEI en su lugar de trabajo?

Although still early in my medical career, I have consistently promoted diversity, equity, and inclusion in every environment I’ve been part of. At the Ministry of Youth and within medical student organizations, I advocate for equal opportunities, respectful representation, and inclusive dialogue in health projects.
I also participate in community initiatives that empower young women in healthcare and raise awareness about underrepresented health issues. My approach to DEI is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and the belief that inclusion strengthens both clinical practice and patient outcomes.

¿Cómo se define la inclusión?

To me, inclusion means ensuring that every individual; regardless of background, gender, or circumstance, has equal access to opportunities, care, and respect. It’s about bridging gaps and creating spaces where no one feels unseen or left behind.
This belief inspired my proposed national project, “Qurb”, for the Jordanian Ministry of Health. The initiative’s core message “health for all, and no one left behind”represents my vision of inclusion in action: bringing healthcare closer to people and transforming equity from an ideal into a tangible reality.

¿Cuál es su logro del que está más orgulloso?

My proudest achievement is being the youngest founder of a proposed national governmental project for the Jordanian Ministry of Health, called “Qurb” (Closeness). The project aims to make healthcare accessible to everyone, regardless of their social or geographic barriers, ensuring that no one feels left behind.
“Qurb” reflects my lifelong belief that inclusion is not just about diversity, it’s about connection, empathy, and practical change. Seeing the idea evolve from a vision into a structured national proposal reaffirmed my commitment to building a healthcare system that truly serves every person.
